Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first trophy since the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

Success also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to create a third set.

Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
